Personalized online care plan for Medical Cannabis use

About the client
For years, people seeking relief through cannabinoid-based care were left on their own, without clear clinical guidance, without trusted products, and without ongoing support. The result was confusion, unnecessary risk, and care that often felt hard to navigate.EO Care was created to change that experience. The company is the leader in cannabinoid-based symptom management. They provide personalized, clinically responsible care to older adults and cancer patients through its unique, scalable digital health platform and affordable, medicalized and federally legal hemp-derived cannabinoid products.
The problem
Every 2 to 5 seconds, someone in the world suffers a cardiac arrest; many in public settings.
It’s estimated that only ~30% of the global population has ever received CPR training, and even fewer have up-to-date, practiced skills.

The Solution
Light-it partnered with EO Care to design and deliver a modern care plan experience that puts speed, safety, and clarity first. The platform generates personalized care plans in seconds using AI without compromising clinician oversight. By applying built-in clinical rules, the platform ensures responsible treatment and provides guidance that patients can easily understand and act on.The result is a scalable system that reduces operational burden while helping patients move confidently from recommendation to care.
The process & workflow
We worked together to understand the limitations of the existing care plan experience, define success criteria, and align on business, clinical, and technical constraints. This phase helped frame the problem and evaluate alternative solution paths before committing to a long-term approach.
From a UX/UI perspective, EO led the visual design (UI), while UX decisions were made collaboratively. Light-it actively contributed to defining user flows, profiling and survey logic, edge cases, and usability improvements, ensuring the experience was intuitive, scalable, and aligned with both patient needs and clinical workflows.
Development progressed in incremental releases, allowing EO to validate assumptions early, adapt requirements as new products and business priorities emerged, and minimize risk. Regular syncs, demos, and shared planning artifacts ensured transparency and fast feedback loops, enabling the teams to adjust scope and priorities without disrupting delivery.
AI-driven plan generation
At the core of the platform is a guidance engine that combines patient-reported symptoms, health profiles, medications, daily routines, and ongoing feedback with clinically validated research, rules, and insights from thousands of prior patient interactions. Using AI and Bayesian models, the system produces clear recommendations for product selection, dosing, and timing within seconds of completing profiling, replacing what was previously a 24-hour manual process. Care plans remain flexible and can be updated over time based on patient experience and clinician input.

A friendlier care plan prioritizing adherence
Care plans now follow a prescription-style approach to guidance, reducing cognitive load and improving adherence: Care plans recommend the right product, dose, and timing based on patient goals, relevant medical history, daily routines, and ongoing feedback, with embedded product ordering that makes it easy to follow the plan.
Clinical rules are integrated into the profiling flow as safety controls to enforce clinical eligibility and risk management.

Continuous feedback to ensure patient satisfaction
Personalized feedback surveys reference each patient’s specific symptoms and desired outcomes, generating higher-quality data to refine future recommendations.
Frictionless care to purchase process
An integrated shopping cart allows patients to purchase recommended products directly from their care plan, reducing friction and bridging the gap between the clinical and direct-to-consumer experiences.

Clinicians always in the loop
The platform provides detailed, personalized explanations of why specific products, doses, and guidance were chosen, increasing patient trust and confidence in their plan.
Automation is paused when further clinician assessment is required, and care progression is blocked for patients who do not meet eligibility criteria for cannabinoid-based treatment. This ensures adherence to clinical standards and regulatory expectations while safeguarding patients throughout the care experience. At any point clinicians can review a plan, change prescriptions, and message patients to make sure things are going smoothly.

Tech Stack & Integrations

Why it matters
Millions of Americans seek relief through cannabinoids, often without access to clear, clinically responsible guidance or trusted products. That gap creates risk for patients and limits providers’ ability to scale care safely. At a pivotal moment for EO Care, Light-it partnered with the client to support a shift toward a more responsible, scalable care model, maintaining continuity on the legacy platform while laying the foundation for a faster, safer, and more sustainable way to deliver guidance and care.
“What a conscientious and capable group of humans. They’re disciplined, efficient, responsive, proactive, and very strong communicators. They have a deep understanding of healthcare best practices, rules and regulations. Most importantly, they sweat the details and care deeply about the end product”
